The Northeastern Bobcats are on the road again on Friday and plays the Delone Catholic Squires at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Monday, everything went Northeastern's way against Donegal as Northeastern made off with a 69-43 win. Given Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Donegal is ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northeastern can attribute much of their success to Mikayla Coleman, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and six steals, and Lauralye Kennedy, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colleen Finnegan, who scored nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Meanwhile, Delone Catholic came tearing into last Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 51-7 win over Hanover. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Delone Catholic has managed all season.
Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Delone Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.
