The Technology Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Sonoma Academy Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Technology is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Roseland Collegiate Prep on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Tyler Scullion made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Technology's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Damian Padilla was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Sebastian Noto also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Sonoma Academy posted their closest win since April 1st on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Calistoga 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Coyotes as they're now sitting on three straight.
Sonoma Academy's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sean Stroud, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Sam Tyko was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Sonoma Academy's record now sits at 12-5. As for Technology, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-11-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Technology has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Sonoma Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Technology suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Sonoma Academy in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
