Mammoth's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicole Smyth, who scored ten points along with five assists and five steals. Smyth has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenna Lynch, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Boron's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Mammoth, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boron will face off against the Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mammoth, they will head out on the road to take on the Scorpions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Huskies in California (the Scorpions are ranked 518th, while the Huskies are ranked 1176th).
