The Forest Hills Rangers will head out on the road to take on the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Forest Hills had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Monday. They claimed a resounding 59-15 win over Bedford at home. Forest Hills pushed the score to 44-11 by the end of the third, a deficit Bedford had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Alexis Henderson, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Aivah Maul, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg got the win against Philipsburg-Osceola on Monday by a conclusive 64-42. Given Hollidaysburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Philipsburg-Osceola is ranked 624th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forest Hills is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Hollidaysburg, their win was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Forest Hills suffered a grim 62-41 defeat to Hollidaysburg in their previous meeting back in January. Can Forest Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
