Springdale is 0-3 against Clairton since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Springdale suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Serra Catholic on the road and fell 66-18. Springdale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Clairton gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Steel Valley 81-32 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Clairton who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Iyanna Wade, who scored 65 points. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was J Childs, who scored 11 points.
Springdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Clairton, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Springdale was dealt a bruising 70-26 loss at the hands of Clairton in their previous matchup on January 4th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wade, who scored 48 points.
