The Portage Mustangs put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Big Spring 60-43.
Portage was led to victory by Alex Chobany and Jenna Burkett. Chobany scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals, while Burkett dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Burkett has scored at least 25% of Portage's points. Cami Burkett was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Portage's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Big Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Portage will head out on the road to face off against Penns Manor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Penns Manor's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Big Spring will be home for the holidays to greet Waynesboro at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
