After flying high against the Grace Davis Spartans last Tuesday, the Ceres Bulldogs came back down to earth. Ceres took a serious blow against Mountain House on Thursday, falling 58-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ceres in their matchups with Mountain House: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Ceres saw an underclassman step up: Arrayah Stallworth dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Stallworth has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.
Ceres struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mountain House racked up 11 assists.
Mountain House's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jariah Indalecio led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Niaja Harris, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Ceres' loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Mountain House, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
Ceres will be playing in front of their home fans against Lathrop at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain House, they will head out on the road to challenge Grace Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Grace Davis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 901st, while Mountain House is ranked 325th).
