The Yosemite Badgers will head out on the road to face off against the Sierra Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Yosemite was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Selma 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Badgers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on John Dudley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taytum Whitesides, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Yosemite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sierra entered their tilt with Torres on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Toros.
Wyatt Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Young was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Micah Goodman was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Leo Oliver was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
The victory got Yosemite back to even at 8-8. As for Sierra, their record now sits at 15-5.
Yosemite couldn't quite finish off Sierra in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Badgers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
