Even though the Montgomery Red Raiders have not done well against the Millville Quakers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Montgomery snuck past Millville with a 47-43 victory. This was payback for Montgomery, who suffered a 50-12 loss the last time these two teams met.
Falin Reynolds was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Montgomery's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Miller, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Millville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Larissa Evans. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Evans' 12th in a row with at least ten points. Kaylie Stiner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Millville, they bumped their record down to 6-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Montgomery will challenge Benton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Millville, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Neumann Regional Academy at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Neumann Regional Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
