MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Spring recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Generals will square off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as MacArthur comes in on six and Spring on 11.
On Thursday, MacArthur got the win against Aldine by a conclusive 18-1. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.
Hailey Mullikin looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Amanda Morales was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trinity Chacon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
MacArthur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Spring put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let Eisenhower get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Lions are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Brylynn Rickert was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Hailey Jones-Calais was a standout: she fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Maleah Grounds was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
MacArthur's record now sits at 18-11. As for Spring, their record is now 13-9.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. MacArthur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .440. However, it's not like Spring struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
MacArthur might still be hurting after the 22-2 defeat they got from Spring in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
