Sugar Valley Rural dropped their record down to 7-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Canton Warriors by a score of 8-7. The Phoenix were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 7-3.
Brody Swanger was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Swanger was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
