They took a serious blow against Fordham Prep, falling 67-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea in their matchups with Fordham Prep: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Fordham Prep to victory were Matthew Kapfer and Will Gregory. Kapfer scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Gregory went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists. Gregory continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Charles Panarella was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals and two blocks.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Fordham Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea will face off against Xavier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
