After a string of three wins, the Fortuna Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ferndale. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fortuna has scored all season.
Leading Ferndale to victory were Tinnley Pidgeon and Michaela Ellsmore. Pidgeon scored eight points, while Ellsmore scored ten points.
Fortuna's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Ferndale, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Fortuna will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Clear Lake at 9:30 a.m. on December 28th. Clear Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 751st, while Fortuna is ranked 274th). Ferndale will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Laytonville at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
