After flying high against the Parkview Christian Patriots on Thursday, the Raymond Central Mustangs came back down to earth. Raymond Central fell just short of Johnson-Brock by a score of 40-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Raymond Central has scored all season.
Johnson-Brock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Knippelmeyer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Knippelmeyer pulled down eight or more rebounds. Taryn Ottemann was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Raymond Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Johnson-Brock, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Raymond Central and Arlington will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Johnson-Brock, they will head out on the road to face off against Lourdes Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
