The Toll Gate Titans couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 49-35 bruising from Ponaganset on Thursday. Toll Gate lost against Ponaganset in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-54 score last time.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Perreault , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Liam Leahy, who scored 5 points along with 5 assists.
Toll Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Ponaganset, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Toll Gate will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Mount St. Charles Academy at 5:45 p.m. As for Ponaganset, they will head out on the road to face off against North Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
