The Santa Margarita Eagles won the last time they faced the Oceanside Pirates, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Santa Margarita took down Oceanside 55-36.
Oceanside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Martina Griffin, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. The contest was Griffin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Kaye, who scored seven points.
Santa Margarita has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Oceanside, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Santa Margarita is on the road again on Thursday and play against Rolling Hills Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Oceanside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Newport at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Newport comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
