It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-32, which was the final score in Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's's tilt against George School on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while George School is ranked 39th).
George School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Martinez, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamiya Lowe, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for George School, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. George School and West Catholic will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
