Orland is 7-2 against Willows since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Honkers at 4:00 p.m. Willows took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Orland, who comes in off a win.
Orland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oroville with a sharp 13-2 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Roy Alexander made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Derek Clark, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Elliot Pierce also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Orland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oroville struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Willows' offense. They lost 11-0 to East Nicolaus on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Honkers in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.
Willows saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Squier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Willows' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Orland, their record is now 5-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Orland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Willows struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Orland took their victory against Willows when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
