Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Crawford Colts

Two dominant forwards in Kimora Nears and Fatuma Abdi are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Patrick Henry Patriots will take on the Crawford Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.

Patrick Henry is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Point Loma: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Patrick Henry blew Point Loma out of the water with a 59-24 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Patriots had established a 28 point advantage.

Patrick Henry's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Taylor Perry, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and four steals, and Honey Smith, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Perry has posted since back in December of 2023. Ayla Collins was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Crawford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 53-43.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Crawford, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Patrick Henry didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crawford in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Abdi, who put up 22 points and eight boards.
