Yuba City took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Lincoln Fighting Zebras 6-0. Winning may never get old, but the Honkers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row dating back to last season.
Eliaja Moncher and Brandon Pelechowicz were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Moncher kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Pelechowicz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Moncher scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Pelechowicz scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Pelechowicz is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

Yuba City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted a batting average of .087.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
