The Jamestown Muskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by West Middlesex at home and fell 55-24. While losing is never fun, Jamestown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while West Middlesex is ranked 227th).
Several Muskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stacie Weimert, who scored eight points. Alayna Cadman was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Jamestown has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for West Middlesex, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Jamestown will be playing in front of their home fans against Commodore Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Commodore Perry comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for West Middlesex, they will head out on the road to face off against Mercer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mercer will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
