The Excelsior Charter Eagles waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Apple Valley Christian by a score of 29-16. That's another feather in the cap for Excelsior Charter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Excelsior Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazynda Juneau led the charge by scoring ten points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Juneau has scored at least a third of Excelsior Charter's points. Allie Raygor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Excelsior Charter's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Apple Valley Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excelsior Charter will take on Victor Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victor Valley Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Apple Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
