West Valley has won 11 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Santa Clara has won 11 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
West Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Arcata 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 29th.

West Valley got a massive performance out of Degan Palos, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Palos has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunner Church, who went 3-for-6 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
West Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Santa Clara sidestepped Oakland Tech for a 10-9 victory.
Jonathan Young looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Traffas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Santa Clara is on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 23 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for West Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 23-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. However, it's not like Santa Clara struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
