Southwestern Academy had a senior duo take command as Marifer Durand almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals and Michelle Fakrogha scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Fakrogha scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valza Jusufi, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, International School of Los Angeles' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on January 8th after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 46-22 defeat at the hands of Mesrobian.
The win makes it two in a row for Southwestern Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-9. As for International School of Los Angeles, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Southwestern Academy couldn't quite finish off International School of Los Angeles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 28-25.
