The Santa Clara Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the MacDonald Condor at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Clara is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Last Thursday, Santa Clara got the win against Monta Vista by a conclusive 14-3. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won five in a row.

Andrew Traffas was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Jaxton Chao was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Diffenderfer, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Santa Clara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for MacDonald's offense. They lost 16-0 to Saratoga on Thursday. The Condor just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Santa Clara's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for MacDonald, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
MacDonald's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Santa Clara hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for MacDonald, though, as they've only averaged .178. Will they be able to contain Santa Clara's hitters?
Santa Clara took their victory against MacDonald in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
