After three games on the road, Arcadia is heading back home. They will take on the Burroughs Bears at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Arcadia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 912th, while Burroughs is ranked 117th).
Arcadia suffered their biggest loss since November 25, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Crescenta Valley, falling 65-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arcadia in their matchups with Crescenta Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Burroughs put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 61-32 win over Burbank at home. Winning may never get old, but Burroughs sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burroughs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashley Martin, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Martin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Elizabeth Amoroso was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and two steals.
Arcadia has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Burroughs, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
Arcadia might still be hurting after the 57-36 loss they got from Burroughs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Burroughs' Mariam Fahs, who scored 12 points along with six steals. Now that Arcadia knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
