The Tennyson Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of Leadership. While losing is never fun, Tennyson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1112th, while Leadership is ranked 456th).
Leading Leadership to victory were Hannah Tagaga and Natalia Diaz. Tagaga dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals, while Diaz dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least 25% of Leadership's points. Kimberly Moncrease was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Tennyson's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.5 points per game. As for Leadership, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Tennyson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leadership will head out on the road to face off against Latitude at 12:00 p.m. on January 12th.
