The Normandy Invaders can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Valley Forge with a sharp 62-36 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Normandy has posted yet this season.
Normandy found their leader in underclassman Lindsay Meriwether, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Meriwether has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziley Minich, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gracie Kercher, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kallie Yeager, who scored nine points.
Normandy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Valley Forge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Normandy will head out on the road to challenge Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Steele presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Normandy in Ohio (Steele is ranked 182nd, while Normandy is ranked 437th). As for Valley Forge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cloverleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Cloverleaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
