Jurupa Hills never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against San Gorgonio on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand San Gorgonio a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Jurupa Hills, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alejandro Preciado made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Matthew Toscano and Aaden Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Toscano scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Lopez scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Eduardo Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Jurupa Hills' victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for San Gorgonio, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Jurupa Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against San Gorgonio: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
