The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will be playing at home against the Pottsville Crimson Tide at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tamaqua will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Last Saturday, Tamaqua humbled Salisbury Township with a 53-16 victory. The victory was just what Tamaqua needed coming off of a 49-29 loss in their prior match.
Tamaqua found their leader in underclassman Lauren Ligenza, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ligenza has scored at least 25% of Tamaqua's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorelei Plasha, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pottsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 49-45 to Eastern Lebanon County.
The losses dropped Tamaqua to 4-1 and Salisbury Township to 0-2.
Tamaqua didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pottsville in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 34-29 victory. Does Tamaqua have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pottsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
