The Encina Prep Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. Their tough 60-34 defeat to Foresthill might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Encina Prep in their matchups with Foresthill: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Encina Prep saw an underclassman step up: Khaliah McDonald almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDonald has scored all season.
Addy Aldrich continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Foresthill, scoring 22 points along with eight assists and five steals. Aldrich has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexis Kalb, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Encina Prep has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Foresthill, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Encina Prep will take on Sacramento Waldorf at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sacramento Waldorf's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Encina Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Foresthill, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Victory Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Victory Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1330th, while Foresthill is ranked 596th).
