The Harding University Rams can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Piedmont by a score of 43-35. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Harding University has scored all year.
Leading Harding University to victory were Chase Bryson and AJ Jenkins. Bryson dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds, while Jenkins scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The contest was Bryson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Caldwell, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Piedmont still got an impressive performance from Miles Leaks, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Leaks scored a full 45.7% of Piedmont's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Fred Little was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and three steals.
Harding University's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Piedmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Harding University will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. West Cabarrus is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Piedmont is on the road again on December 28th and play against East Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. East Mecklenburg is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.4 points per game.
