Hug had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it five. They fell just short of the Quincy Trojans by a score of 8-7. Even though they lost, the Hawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Silas Stephens put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Stephens was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
As for Quincy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
