The Gompers Prep Academy Eagles are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Del Lago Academy Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Gompers Prep Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, Gompers Prep Academy was the victim of a rough 46-24 defeat at the hands of Horizon Prep. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gompers Prep Academy in their matchups with Horizon Prep: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kaila Monsay, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Nadia Mohamed, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Del Lago Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 18-17 to Rock Academy.
Gompers Prep Academy bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Del Lago Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Gompers Prep Academy lost to Del Lago Academy on the road by a decisive 53-37 margin when the teams last played back in November. Can Gompers Prep Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
