The Everett Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Meyersdale Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Everett is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Wednesday, Everett earned a 59-48 victory over the Panthers.
Cloe Price continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. She hasn't dropped below 16 points for eight straight games. Morgan Bowser was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though Meyersdale has not done well against the Cougars recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Meyersdale managed a 37-33 win over the Cougars. 37 seems to be a good number for Meyersdale as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meyersdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maci Moore led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Moore has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurel Daniels, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Everett pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Meyersdale, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Everett have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Meyersdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everett took their win against the Red Raiders in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 53-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Everett since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
