The Palmyra Cougars lost against the Central Dauphin Rams back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Palmyra was beaten by Central Dauphin 63-36. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Central Dauphin is ranked 36th).
Central Dauphin found their leader in underclassman Kayla Fletcher, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and three steals. It was the first time this season that Fletcher posted eight or more assists. Lauren Cavoli was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Central Dauphin, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road.
Palmyra will face off against Red Land at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central Dauphin, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against State College at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. State College will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Central Dauphin surely won't give up without a fight.
