The Covina Colts will head out on the road to square off against the Elsinore Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Covina's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Elsinore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Wednesday, Covina was able to grind out a solid win over Rowland, taking the game 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.

Declan Bowers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Covina is undefeated when Bowers posts three or more hits, but 9-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ryan Silva was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Donavan Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Covina always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Elsinore's pitchers stepped up to hand San Jacinto a 5-0 shutout. Elsinore hasn't had any issues with San Jacinto recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jacob Farias made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jimenez, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
The win got Covina back to even at 13-13. As for Elsinore, their record is now 18-7.
