After a string of four wins, Lehi's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the American Fork Cavemen. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavemen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Hawkins, who posted 15 points. Saxon Young was another key player, putting up 13 points.

American Fork's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Mella, who went 8 of 17 en route to 19 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jax Clark, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

Lehi's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for American Fork, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

Lehi didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-53 defeat against Westlake on the 14th. As for American Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-61 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 14th.
