After a string of three wins, the Community School of Davidson Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 79-44 loss at the hands of South Mecklenburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Community School of Davidson has scored all season.
Community School of Davidson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dermot Lowry, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Williams, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Peter Moye continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Mecklenburg, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Moye's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Anderson Skelton was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Community School of Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for South Mecklenburg, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson and Bradford Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Bradford Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday. South Mecklenburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face Richmond at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th.
