The Marin Catholic Wildcats will take on the Saint Francis Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marin Catholic comes in on three and Saint Francis on five.
Marin Catholic had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Saint Mary's on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Panthers.
Cooper Mitchell and Walker Untermann were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Mitchell pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Untermann pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Mitchell went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Untermann went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Untermann a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Martin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Marin Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint Mary's only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Francis). They blew past Palma 14-5 last Saturday. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly nine runs.
Saint Francis got a massive performance out of Bobby Hill, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that Hill has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sione Tulua, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Saint Francis' victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Marin Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Marin Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Saint Francis struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
