Volleyball Recap: Oak Lawn's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of three wins, Oak Lawn's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgewood Rebels. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Maryam Hussein paced Oak Lawn's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hussein got some help from Kasey Thompson and her 13 assists. Angelica Ziaja controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Oak Lawn's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ridgewood, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Oak Lawn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Waukegan on the 30th. As for Ridgewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lincoln Park on the 30th.
