The Katella Knights suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Segerstrom. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Katella in their matchups with Segerstrom: they've now lost eight in a row.
Stephanie Valenciano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Segerstrom, scoring 25 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Valenciano has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Valeria Quero, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Katella's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Segerstrom, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Katella will head out on the road to challenge Ocean View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Segerstrom, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Godinez Fundamental at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Godinez Fundamental is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
