Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Huskies vs. King Wolves

Centennial is a perfect 10-0 against King since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Huskies will square off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Centennial sitting on 12 straight wins and King on three.

On Saturday, Centennial didn't have too much trouble with Lynwood as they won 57-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Huskies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Knights are ranked 128th).

Centennial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cydnee Bryant led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 27 boards. Bryant is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Armanyie Reed was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten assists.

Centennial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, King made easy work of Corona on Friday and carried off a 57-36 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 22-7.

Everything came up roses for Centennial against King when the teams last played last Wednesday, as the squad secured a 91-30 win. In that contest, the Huskies amassed a halftime lead of 54-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
