This season hasn't been kind to the Mead Raiders, who are still winless after their 12th matchup. They lost to East Butler at home by a decisive 23-6 margin on Tuesday. Mead found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 19 to 6 on offense.
Riley Koranda was Mead's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Brenna Schulz held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
East Butler's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylie Biltoft, who scored nine points along with three steals. Biltoft hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Kozisek, who scored two points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Mead bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Butler, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.
Mead will head out on the road to take on Fort Calhoun on Thursday. Hopefully Fort Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for East Butler, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Meridian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Wednesday.
