University Prep Value has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Academia Avance Guerreros Jaguares at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, University Prep Value was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Bishop Conaty-Loretto.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Academia Avance, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of CALS Early College on Thursday.
Loss or not, Academia Avance got some senior leadership from Leslie Velasquez who scored 16 points and Kylie Aguilar who scored 10 points. Velasquez scored a full 55.2% of Academia Avance's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
University Prep Value has yet to win a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-3 record. As for Academia Avance, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
University Prep Value was able to grind out a solid win over Academia Avance when the teams last played back in January, winning 35-28. Will University Prep Value repeat their success, or does Academia Avance have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
