Knightdale is 0-8 against Wake Forest since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Knights will square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Knightdale took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-0 victory over Vance County. The Knights' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Knightdale's win came down to the chemistry between Jamel Perry and his top target Jalen Moore. Perry threw for 322 yards and three TDs on only 19 passes while Moore picked up 170 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 322 passing yards gave Perry a new career-high. Dawson Mack also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.
Knightdale didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Vance County to a completion percentage of just 26.7%. The Knights weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.2%.
Knightdale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Zayshaun Bennett, Jeremiah Joyner, and Moore picked up one apiece. Moore also posted 170 receiving yards, which is notable because Knightdale is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 0-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, while Wake Forest put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for East Wake. The Cougars blew past the Warriors, posting a 42-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three games by 35 points or more so far this season.
Knightdale better keep an eye on Micah Olu. He was instrumental in Wake Forest's win, rushing for 158 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Olu is now averaging an impressive 104.7 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Landen Perry, who threw for 63 yards and a pair of TDs.
The win made it two in a row for Wake Forest and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points over those games. As for Knightdale, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Knightdale has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 267.7 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Wake Forest, though, as they've been averaging only 71.4 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Knightdale came up short against Wake Forest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 31-21. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
