Make it six blowout wins for the Orestimba Warriors this season. They really took it to Gustine for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-15 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Orestimba sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Orestimba was led to victory by Jenessa Gonzalez and Olivia Gray. Gonzalez scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Gray scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ashlynn Bell was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine steals.
Despite the loss, Gustine had strong showings from Brooklyn Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds, and Norma Mac?as, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Gustine struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Orestimba pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.
Orestimba is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Gustine, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
Orestimba will take on the Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Denair focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Gustine, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
