Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Delta's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Delta's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gunnison Cowboys with a sharp 18-7 win. Considering the Panthers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Izzy Harrison was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophia Siennicki, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Delta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Gunnison, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will head out to face off against Eagle Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gunnison, they will square off against Rocky Ford at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
