They took a serious blow against North Penn, falling 60-32. Bayard Rustin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.
When it comes to explaining why Bayard Rustin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Betchyk. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. That was a full 37.5% of Bayard Rustin's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bayard Rustin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for North Penn, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayard Rustin will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Sun Valley at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th. Sun Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Bayard Rustin is ranked 69th). As for North Penn, they will head out on the road to square off against Council Rock North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
