The Laguna Beach Breakers are taking a road trip to take on the Pacifica Christian Tritons at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laguna Beach will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Laguna Beach had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Sage Hill on Wednesday. The Breakers blew past the Lightning 7-1. The win continues a trend for the Breakers in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won three in a row.

Branson Wade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Parker Moore and Otis Boultinghouse did most of the damage at the plate: Moore went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Boultinghouse went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Moore has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Adams, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacifica Christian). They put the hurt on Western Christian with a sharp 14-8 victory on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8, 2025, but that streak is no more.
Pacifica Christian let Scout Escobedo and Mason Cropsey run wild. Escobedo went 4-for-5 with three runs and one double, while Cropsey got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was Cropsey's first of the season. John Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Pacifica Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Pacifica Christian's record now sits at 5-3. As for Laguna Beach, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-3.
Laguna Beach got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Pacifica Christian by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Breakers repeat their success, or do the Tritons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
